๐ŸŒ World Museum ๐ŸŒ As part of our Mental Health aw ๐ŸŒ World Museum ๐ŸŒ 

As part of our Mental Health awareness activities, during half term we took the children to the Liverpool World Museum! They loved exploring everything on offer, particularly the floor with the aquarium on it. All of the children were amazing and processed all of the new sights, sounds and smells brilliantly. We are so proud of you all!

As part of our mental health spotlight for February we had a sensory valentines disco! The children enjoyed sensory tuff trays, valentines baking, face paints and party foodโ€ฆ with plenty of chocolate covered strawberries! Yum!

Yesterday some of our amazing staff completed their refresher course on all things First Aid related. All staff on site are already fully trained, however, we know how important the safety of our children is so we ensure to always keep this refreshed and up to date. Well done girls!
๐Ÿง  Mental Health UK ๐Ÿง  As you know, we are raising ๐Ÿง  Mental Health UK ๐Ÿง  

As you know, we are raising money for the amazing Mental Health UK charity as part of childrenโ€™s mental health week during February. Our first activity was a Toy Story themed pizza planet party! The children enjoyed lots of Toy Story themed mark marking activities, investigating alien slime, fancy dress, creating their own floating pizza planets and of courseโ€ฆ eating pizza! Thank you to everyone whoโ€™s donated so far!

We had lots of very wet fun in Forest School this week as we embrace all things water play and weather explorations!

Investigators have had a super busy week investigating their direction for learning: "what can we grow?" They have used their senses to explore a range of different plants and herbs, enjoyed a sensory veggies tuff tray complete with edible soil and planted their own Iris flower bulbs to take home. What a brilliant week for our Investigators!

Across the nursery we have been fully engaging in our direction for learning "Fruit & Veg" We went to a local produce stand to pick out what we wanted before taking everything back to nursery to explore. We have engaged in a range of activities including chopping and threading, printing veg in paint, investigating fruit inside jelly and making our own delicious root veg soup and yummy carrot cake! What a fantastic couple of weeks everyone!

We have made our return to 2 firm favourites from our "esSENtial Experiences" programme; the HIVE and the Callister Garden. The children have thoroughly embraced their return and we can't wait to have lots more fun here during 2026!

Welcome back! Happy 2026 everyone- we have had a busy few weeks with everyone settling back in to nursery life. It is lovely to see all of our returning children happy and healthy, and a big warm welcome to our new children and their families who are just starting with us. We are looking forward to sharing this year with you and celebrating all of the childrens amazing achievements!

Across the nursery, we regularly engage in water play activities. We know that this is a very popular activity for our children as they develop their understanding of shape, space and measure. Inventors noticed that leading up to Christmas, some of their resources were looking a little bit glittery from all the arts and crafts.. so they decided to give them a good clean!

Sensory cooking is an embedded part of our curriculum here at nursery, and is something fully inclusive that all of the children enjoy. The children are encouraged to use all of their senses to explore a range of ingredients, investigate them in their raw and natural states, and then observe the differences once cooked. The children love to measure, chop, pour, mix and roll!

Musical explorations are a vital part of early years learning. They help our children to develop their communication and listening skills, support their social and emotional well being and create opportunities to develop rhythm and co-ordination. Our children particularly enjoy nursery rhymes, their daily "music and movement" sessions and engaging in ring games with their friends.

Inventors have been developing their imaginative play skills. They are enjoying using their role play kitchen to cook up a range of treats, also utilising their sensory tuff tray to transport resources back and fourth when they are exploring food based play. It is lovely for us to see these skills developing, watching the children make connections between their play and real life scenarios. Great job Inventors!

The entire nursery has embraced learning about animals! Investigators have loved investigating sea creatures and using their entire bodies for water play. Explorers have explored special sensory trays, using animals to make marks in different textures. Inventors have been inventing their own animal foot prints and patterns using stencils and paint. Great job everyone!!

Halloween and Bonfire Night! we have had lots of fun in nursery decorating our classrooms, making chocolate apples, pumpkin printing and making bubbly cauldron or sparkly fire work pictures. The children have loved listening to different Halloween songs and using spooky photo props!

Last week we celebrated world porridge day! We explored oats in our tuff trays using spoons and bowls of different shapes and sizes. We sang "When Goldie locks went to the house of the bears!" and enjoyed a sensory story sack together.

Inventors have fully embraced vehicles week! They have really enjoyed reading stories about different vehicles they might find out in the community. They have been working very hard with a range of fine motor activities including vehicle inset puzzles, connecting train track and creating traffic light skewers in their sensory cooking session!
