Our Rooms
Our mission is to inspire children with special needs to reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. In order to fulfil this mission our refurbished nursery has 3 base rooms (investigators, explorers and inventor’s), a secure outdoor space, a possABILITIES library, an amazing movement room and a fantastic imaginarium.
All children within our care have access to all of our facilities throughout the day. Unlike some nurseries we do not have an age range on our base rooms as, in partnership with parents, we assess which room would best support your child’s development.
Imaginarium
Our imaginarium is a calming sensory room which features bubbles, lights and music. A space for children to relax and imagine in an environment filled with soothing lights, sounds and calming colours. This space is used daily to support regulation, sensory diets, interventions and relaxation.
Movement Room
Our movement room aims to support children's physical development, sensory integration, social skills and self regulation. Our movement room allows children to freely explore, crawl through tunnels, spin, climb, slide and develop their motor skills. This space is used daily to support children in a variety of ways.
Investigators
Our investigators room is the smallest of our rooms and has 3 children per session. This room is set to support children who are in the early stages of their communication and interaction development and also to support children who may require more intense physiotherapy or medical support.
Explorers
Our explorer's room is a beautiful and stimulating environment with plenty of sensory experiences. This room will support children’s awe and wonder of the world as they explore the environment and develop their communication and interaction. This room operates on a 1:3 ratio to ensure children receive intensive interactions.
Inventors
Our inventors’s room is the larger of our rooms and is set up to support our children’s social communication skills. Children will be introduced to early mathematics and literacy through play-based learning as they find out more about how the world around them works. This room operates on a 1:4 ratio.
possABILITIES Library
Our possABILITIES library is a quiet space for our children to develop a life long love of reading through interactive story telling, story massage and much more! This space is accessible for all children at different point in the day and you will often find small groups enjoying a story together, laughing and relaxing.
Outdoors
Our outdoor space is a secure area for children to extend their learning. This area has a mud kitchen, water wall, music wall, busy board and a sensory garden as well as providing space for children to extend their physical skills and build BIG towers and structures. You will find us out here every day!
